April Students'Works

April 3, 2014

Here are the submitted works for April.
From March, students have been practicing writing their names with the new grade level added—a number one year higher.
They’ve worked hard again this month, producing fresh new pieces to welcome the refreshing season.

As for the grading system, the Keirin Calligraphy Association takes a thoughtful and careful approach.
For students in odd-numbered grades—such as 3rd and 5th—the ranking is reset, and they start again at a new level.

Each grade level has its own goals:

  • Lower grades focus on writing energetically and neatly.

  • Middle grades focus on correct and accurate brush techniques.

  • Upper grades aim to write beautifully, quickly, and carefully.

The reset is made to match these goals. Let’s keep doing our best!

We’re also sharing some works by our students that were featured in the Mainichi Newspaper—please take a look!
