We have begun to feel days that seem close to spring.
We hope this message finds you in good health.
Starting around November and continuing through December and January, the calligraphy exhibitions hosted by various organizations—including promotion and advancement examinations—have now concluded for this fiscal year.
We sincerely thank all our students for their hard work and the parents for their support.
We will now share the outstanding works from this year’s exhibitions.
Haru-chan…
She has been coming to the class together with her younger brother, who is now in 1st grade, since she was in 3rd grade.
She has been fortunate to receive awards from time to time and is a promising student with a bright future ahead.
From the character “夢” (Dream), we discussed some points to be mindful of going forward.
By slightly slanting the many horizontal strokes upward to the right, the last stroke looks more elegant and the overall finish improves.
She is currently learning the difficulty of this slight upward slant.
Now that she has started practicing semi-cursive script (gyōsho), I believe she deeply understands the meaning of the “slightly upward slanting line.”
A steady and cheerful professional! Keep it up!
Yugo-san…
With his older brother graduated, Yugo-san’s graduation day is quickly approaching as well.
He commented that he wants to devote himself fully to sports in junior high school.
Today, he held his brush in his tough-man style, wearing a short-sleeve shirt and shorts.
He has the ability to fully focus on the task at hand and shows signs of being a future great.
“You can become the ‘light of hope’ for your family and your advanced junior high school.”
We have high expectations for you.
Momoka-san…
Momoka carefully completes her hard-pen homework.
About the first 20 minutes of the 90-minute practice session is devoted to hard-pen work.
If homework is done carelessly, corrections and redo take time and the time for brush work tends to be reduced.
Within that time, she speeds up the “homework correction,” “redo,” and “final clean copy.”
She finishes her hard-pen work with an A-grade neatness and then moves on to brush work.
Her work titled “信念” (Conviction) also shows the same careful and reliable finish.
With a calmness befitting an upper-grade student, Momoka steadily acquires brush skills.
Her treasure is her never-give-up spirit.
Cheerful Momoka! Keep it up!
